This mixed-media sculpture incorporates a sigil of fire based on oracle bone script (甲骨文), the earliest form of Chinese writing, an ancient hieroglyphic system used to record divinations and ritual practices. Drawing inspiration from western cyber witchcraft which uses emojis, the modern pictographic symbols as a material to cast spells, and Fulu (符箓), the rectangular Taoist charms used to interact with supernatural forces, the piece investigates how contemporary digital culture reanimates esoteric traditions through technology and spirituality.
